Meaning And Life Application
During Paul’s time in prison, the people of Philippians supported him financially. Of course, he was really happy about that. He wrote this letter to encourage them, because he believed that God would reward their kindness.
Apostle Paul believed that God Himself will make them amends for the kindness they had shown him. They supplied his needs, according to their poverty, but God shall supply theirs according to his riches.
Paul’s confidence comes from knowing that God blesses those who bless others. When we bless someone, God will bless us in some way.
It’s not about giving millions to the poor, but do what you can to help others, for the sake of Christ. The more we do for God, the more we are indebted to him, because we receive the more from him.
We are comforted by this assurance, knowing that God will help us in the future, whether it be our spiritual, mental or physical needs. And His supply is inexhaustible, because He is the God of the universe.
Stay connected to him, for he will certainly provide more than you could have ever expected.
Here are some examples of how to apply Philippians 4:19 in one’s life:
- Give to a neighbor in need, don’t expect anything in return, and God will reward you.
- Give your time, talent and resources to your community.
- Do you have a need? Then pray and ask God for help, do not complain about it and wait for Him to solve the problem.
- Make a list of all the many blessings you have in your life. Meditate on that each day, and praise Him daily for all of them.
- Make an inventory of all the gifts and talents that you have received from God. Meditate on them, and use them to serve Him in your professional and personal life.
