5 Inspiring Devotions On Trials And Tribulations
Last Updated: 27 March 2021
Beloved brother or sister in Christ, how are you today? Are you facing trials and tribulations that are stealing your inner peace? In this article you will find 5 devotions on trials and tribulations.
When we are going through difficult times, it is important to know and feel that God’s presence and peace is with us.
For that reason, these devotions are written in a slightly different way than usual. They are written from God’s perspective; as if God is speaking to you. The first person singular (I, me, my) narrative refers to God. “You” indicates you, the reader, thus the point of view is again that of God talking to you.
Read them, thus, as a love letter from God to you.
May these words bless you greatly and give you strength to keep fighting and reach your goals, and above all peace of mind and heart.
I Will Give You Strength
Perhaps today your problems are so big or so complicated that you think you don’t have enough strength to face them all. No, my son or daughter. I do not want you to suffer thinking that there is no solution to your problems. I already said once in my word that I will give you the strength you need. And so yes, today I reaffirm that promise.
I want you to know that I am Omnipotent. Today I promise you that I will give you the strength to get through these difficult times. I am the sustenance of your soul and the one who revitalizes your heart. You will see, once my divine strength reaches you, your weakness will no longer be an obstacle.
Think of all the times I have helped you. Remember the times you were in tribulation and suddenly you received strength to continue. So many times I helped you escape danger. In sickness I was there for you. When they slandered you, I solved your trouble.
Never forget that I am more than capable of giving you unexpected strength when unusual trials come upon you. Rise up. Do not be defeated. Don’t you feel that you are weak. Do not feel less than anyone else. Do not let this world control you. I, your God, am very powerful. And I will be here for you always.
Meditate on Isaiah 41:10
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
God In Front Of The Battle
I know very well what is happening in your life. You are facing a great challenge. Certainly, a great battle awaits you. But, I want you to know this: I am your God who goes before you. Who can ever dare to stop you from doing anything when I am with you? Who can harm you? Why are you doubting your victory?
Not only am I in front of you, but I am also within you. I am above you, below you, all around you. With my wings of protection surrounding you. Forever and ever, into eternity. I will always be with you. I will always stand with you. Do not be afraid of your battles, for I the Lord of hosts am with you and I will guide you to victory.
Since I am before you and also within you, I will never fail to help you when you need it. I cannot fail myself and therefore I cannot fail you either. I will continue to help you in your needs, until the very end of times. Just as I cannot fail you, so I can never abandon you. I am more than able and willing to continue to strengthen you until you no longer struggle and no longer need me.
Stay strong. Have no fear. Do not be discouraged. Don’t give in to your circumstances. I am here with you and for you. Together we will fight and together we will win.
Meditate on Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Don’t Doubt
Beloved, in this life, you will face multiple battles. Nobody is immune to adversity in this world. Struggles in your life come and go. That is what life is for now. What you have to do is just trust me.
What is the name of your battle? What are you facing in your life today? Are you at a point where you have to make major decisions that have consequences for your life? I promise you that I will give you the wisdom and clarity to make the right decisions. If you have to face your most vicious enemies, here I give you strength, courage, grit, and the victory. Are there dark clouds hanging above your roof? I will clear that storm for you.
I know that on many occasions you doubt me. You doubt my power and you wonder if I can help you solve your problems. Today, I encourage you not to doubt me anymore. I am faithful to all my children. My promises are Yes and Amen. Under no circumstance will I forsake you. No matter what happens, I will be here with you and for you. Your parents may reject you. Your friends may abandon you. But, I am faithful and will never let you down. My Holy Spirit is always with you.
Lift up your heart. Be strong. Be calm in your anxiety. Rest in hope. Let faith be in you. I have never failed you in the past and I will not fail you now.
Reflect on Joshua 1:5
No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.
Receive My Peace
A life without worries, but only prayers. Live without fear of what may happen tomorrow, but come before me in prayer. For I hold your tomorrow in my hands.
Yes, I know that life is not easy for you and that you often struggle with all kinds of problems. But I want to comfort you with this: you can come before my throne with all your troubles.
Come, sit at my feet, and just start talking to me. I am here for you. You may come whenever you want. Lay all your desires and your problems before me. Never doubt my power to answer your prayers. As you pray, believe that you have already received. Thank me and I will give you my grace and my mercy.
I guarantee you this: if you come before me in prayer, I will give you my peace. A peace that you will not be able to understand, but that will give you a reason to rejoice in me.
In life or death. In riches or in poverty. In pain, persecution or whatever. I will help you and I will clear all those dark clouds over your life. Pray to me with confidence; and I will help you.
Now meditate on Philippians 4:7
The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Try Another Perspective
Try to look at your trials and tribulations from a different perspective. Going through adversity will give you patience, determination and compassion. One can only learn to endure when one goes through the process or event where one has to endure.
To be able to swim, you have to get in the water and start swimming. It is not easy to become a skilled swimmer. You can only get there by doing it often and with a lot of patience. Likewise, if you want to master driving, you have to get into a car and start driving. Only with patience and determination you will get your driver’s license after a while.
Your tribulation gives you patience to accept the things you cannot change, and to understand and wait for the appropriate time for everything.
Your tribulation produces sufficient determination to bear whatever comes your way, to fight relentlessly towards victory, to overcome obstacles and to reach your goals.
Your tribulation will teach you humility and you will acquire compassion in order to understand the suffering of others.
But in all things, remember, I am here to hold you, to care for you, to refresh you, and to illuminate your journey to success.
Reflect on Romans 5:3-5
We also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
